Elena Efeoglou

Elena Efeoglou is a visual artist. She studied ‘Painting’ at the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts at A.U.Th, she has a Master’s Degree in ‘Photography’ from the University of Belgrade, Serbia and she holds a PhD from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece. Her PhD thesis focused on the qualitative analysis of photographic representations during the greek civil war and was awarded with honorable mention by the “Vasiliki and Olga Stavropoulou Foundation”

She is a Laboratory Teaching Staff in the Film School, Faculty of Fine Arts at A.U.Th, in the academic field “Photography in Audiovisual and Visual Arts”, she is a Collaborating Teaching Staff of the Hellenic Open University at Lighting Design MA as a thesis supervisor and she previously taught the laboratory course “Photography” as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts, University of Western Macedonia (2013-2018).

Her artistic interests include audiovisual installations, video and photography and her work has been presented internationally at museums, galleries and festivals in Greece and abroad (Republic of Korea, Austria, The Netherlands, Turkey, Croatia, Philippines, USA, and more).
